Sizes
Sizes quoted are always American. We sell American shoes, so we sell them in American sizes (more accurate than trying to convert). US sizes are 2 sizes longer than UK sizes, but UK brands vary widely and feet change over time, please do not guess! We will measure your feet for you – its all part of the service (read more about our fitting chart below).

Width Fittings – What do they mean?

AAA = Very, very narrow (called ‘S’ for slim in the USA)
AA = Very narrow  (called ‘N’ for narrow in the USA)
B = For slightly narrower than average feet – called ‘M’ for Medium in the USA, where it’s actually the standard width on sale in shops
AV = C or D fit, ‘standard width’, which probably fits 75% to 85% of women in the UK, and is the width that you’ll find in shoe shops (called ‘W’ for Wider in the USA)

If you have narrow feet, its likely that you’ve always had trouble finding narrow fitting shoes, and may often had to wear whatever you can find, rather than what actually fits.   In addition, feet continue to change throughout our lives  - gradually becoming longer as arches get lower, and wider and shallow across the forefoot as feet ‘spread’.   Not to mention the lumps and bumps .. !

So, if you need narrow fitting shoes, its quite normal not to know exactly what size and width fitting you really are – and that’s why we always like to start with measuring your feet.   We do this for free, and it’s all part of our service to you.
